A Simple Ayurvedic Diet Plan For Every Person To Be Healthy: Part 4

In the last three blogs, we have seen the various components of diet and food to consume daily healthily as per Ayurveda. In this blog, we will explore some other options for morning breakfast and evening snacks. And also see some foods to avoid to prevent illness.

Options for breakfast or small hunger in the evening:

One can have Upma, Shira, Poha (if don’t have acidity), Rajira Laddu, Dry fruit or laddu of dry fruits, Daliya & Rice puff simply toasted with ghee and salt chillies are preferred.

Avoid having Idli, Dosa; or yesterday’s leftover food for breakfast as it can cause my gut issues like acidity bloating, etc.

Fruits: 

The fruits generally advised by ayurveda doctors are Anjeer (figs), Mosambi (Sweet lime), Pomegranate, amla, Khajoor (dates), Watermelon, Musk melon are advised to eat.

Fruits like mango, banana, chiku, custard apple, and guava are advised to avoid people tending to have cough and congestion.

Also, a seasonal natural and local fruits from your habitats are advised to be consumed according to the season and Prakriti.

Milk and its product:

Good quality cow milk or buffalo milk is advised to be consumed after properly heating it. One can have curd occasionally, and buttermilk with a pinch of rock and black salt. A well-prepared ghee at home is advised to eat regularly to boost the metabolism.

Things to avoid:

All types of bakery products like biscuits, bread & their by-products like pizza, burger, etc. All types of farsaan or namkeen, along with packed food like chips and fries etc. Avoid carbonated drinks soda or soft drinks. Also, leftover food, processed cheese, and mayonnaise are advised to avoid various health issues.

Conclusion:

All the above-mentioned ayurvedic diets can be consumed by every person without any disruption in their health routine. But the diet can differ from person to person as per their health condition and dosha situation.

Suvarna Prashana

Ayurvedic texts are the source of various ancient medicines along with some unique traditional practices. These practices were originally described in the form of a health regimen which further transferred into rituals. Suvarna Prashana or Suvarna Bindu Prashana is one of them.

Various Herbs: Herbs like VachaShankhapushpi, Brahmi, etc are used in the making of Sauvarna Prashana. These medicines are good for the brain cells and their nourishment. Why Pushya Nakshatra?

Pushya Nakshatra is one of the 27 nakshatras in the Nakshatra mandala (constellation). Pushya is derived from the word Pushti which means nourishes. It is considered auspicious due to its nourishing nature. This is selected for the administration of Suvarna prashana to bloom its properties.

It is advised for children between the age of 0 to 16 years.

Arthritis

 

Arthritis is a common joint disease faced by numerous people nowadays. Arthritis is a degenerative disease of joints commonly found in old age people, but nowadays people from young age group are also been prone to arthritis. It is characterized by swelling and stiffness in joints.

Types of arthritis

There few types of arthritis which are important to know while treating it.

It is one of a common type of an arthritis mostly affecting joints and its cartilages. In this the cartilages attached to bones are gradually wore out over the period of time due to various causes. It affects mostly weight bearing joints of the body. Common example is knee joint.

3. Ankylosing Spondylitis:

4. Psoriatic Arthritis:

Psoriatic Arthritis is an autoimmune joint disorder develops in the patient suffering from Psoriasis. This disease has red and slivery patches on the body.

So, while treating the patients suffering from arthritis it is a big challenge as it is not a condition that completely cures in current scenario. It also has several limitations like use of drugs there are only use for static muscle relaxants for pain relief, using of NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) to cure the inflammation are used for long term are the only solutions till now.
